Our kittens experience a loving home environment from birth

Kitten Development journey: From Birth to Arrival

Step 1: Playpen - Ensuring Safety and Independence

Our kittens are sourced from select breeders in Europe who raise them in their own homes, treating them as cherished members of their family. They receive all the love, attention, and activity they need to thrive and grow into happy and healthy companions.

Step 2: The Kitten Room - Freedom to Discover and Socialise

In the dedicated kitten room, the kittens have the freedom to roam and play for the next 6 weeks. We provide our breeders with a specially curated socialisation soundtrack that exposes them to various sounds, helping them become familiar and comfortable with everyday noises. The room features a transparent baby safety gate, allowing them to observe and learn from what they see going on in the living room among humans, dogs and other cats.

Step 3: Supervised Visits to the Living Room - Building Relationships

After receiving their first vaccination at around eight weeks old, the kittens begin supervised visits to the living room. These interactions allow them to socialize and play with other family pets, fostering positive relationships and further developing their social skills and adaptability.

Step 4: Arrival in Singapore and Transition to Our Cattery

After completing their second vaccination, the kittens are scheduled to fly to Singapore. Upon arrival, they are housed in our cattery, which is a 24/7 air-conditioned space featuring private kitten viewing rooms and common areas for our cats. This environment allows them to continue their socialisation journey by meeting more people and interacting with other cats. We prioritise their health and well-being by maintaining strict cleanliness standards, disinfecting the cattery daily, and ensuring that cat litters are cleaned three times a day to provide a hygienic and comfortable environment for our kittens.

Why socialisation in kittenhood is important
As a species, cats do not have an inborn need to be with people or be handled. A kitten learns these behaviours during a planned socialisation period, most easily up to 12 weeks old. For your kitten to be confident and happy in adulthood, they need to be provided with positive, stress-free experiences and exposed to a range of common sounds during this crucial socialisation period.

Our goal is to help your kitten grow into a healthy and happy life-long companion who is friendly, with an even temperament, and easy to handle.

How we socialise your kittens

  • Playtime with Siblings:

Kittens learn valuable social skills through play. We provide ample opportunities for your kittens to engage in playtime with their littermates, fostering healthy social interactions and teaching them important lessons in communication and boundaries.

  • Frequent Handling:

Gradually increasing the amount of time and frequency your kittens are handled, we ensure they become accustomed to being touched and groomed. This includes gentle grooming, ear cleaning, paw pad and sanitary trimming, helping them develop trust and ease with human touch.

  • Introduction to Different Environments:

We gradually introduce your kittens to various spaces within our Catfe and in our homes. This exposure helps them become comfortable and adaptable to new surroundings, reducing anxiety and fear when transitioning to their forever home.

  • Exposure to Different People:

Your kittens will have the opportunity to interact with our family members, friends and visitors to our cattery. This exposure to a variety of individuals helps them become comfortable around different people, fostering positive social behaviours.

  • Interaction with Children:

If appropriate, we introduce your kittens to well-behaved children to our cattery to help them become comfortable and sociable around younger family members. This interaction promotes positive relationships between children and cats, fostering empathy and reducing the likelihood of aggressive or fearful behaviour towards children.

  • Gentle Introduction to Other Animals:

Our cattery houses our family dog and other adult cats. We carefully introduce your kittens to these animals, allowing them to interact in a controlled and supervised manner. This exposure fosters positive associations with other animals, helps develop their social skills and prepares them for a future in a multi-cat household or a family with a pet dog.

  • Positive Reinforcement Training:

We employ positive reinforcement techniques during socialisation sessions to encourage desired behaviours in your kittens. This involves rewarding them with praise and affection when they exhibit positive social behaviours, helping them understand what is expected of them in social interactions.

  • Introduction to Sounds:

We expose your kittens to familiar sounds in a typical home environment, such as vacuum cleaners, washing machines and TV noises. And, also by playing a specially curated soundtrack, we help them become familiar with everyday noises, ensuring they won't be startled or fearful when encountering them as adults.

  • Litter Box Training:

We train your kittens to use the litter box and recommend using Tofu cat litter. This training ensures that your kittens develop proper litter habits, making their transition to your home seamless.

  • Continued Support and Guidance:

We are always available to provide ongoing support and guidance even after you bring your kittens home. We offer advice on continued socialisation, behaviour training, and creating a nurturing environment for your kittens’ ongoing development.

Interested in making a forever home for one of our kittens?

Here’s how the buying process works:

  • As a first step, please schedule a viewing/consultation appointment with us to visit our Cattery so we can better understand your needs and ensure a suitable match.

  • Select the kitten you love during or after the visit.

  • Secure the kitten as yours with a 50% deposit. (Until the deposit is paid, we cannot hold the kitten for you, and all our kittens are available on a first-come, first-served basis.)

  • Upon placing your deposit, we will care for the kitten at our shop for 2 weeks, giving you time to prepare and set up your home for their arrival. (If you're unable to collect the kitten within two weeks of placing the deposit or by the agreed collection date, a boarding fee of $100 per week will be incurred.)

  • You may visit your kitten once a week for a 1-hour session. Additionally, you can opt to extend your visit by 30 minutes, using this extra time to learn basic cat maintenance skills, such as cleaning their ears, trimming their nails, or administering medication. These visits and learning sessions must be arranged by booking an appointment in advance.

  • In the meantime, please cat-proof your home for your kitten's safety. This includes netting the windows and external doors.

  • Please arrange an appointment to collect your kitten. The balance payment needs to be made on the day of collection or at the end of the 2-week preparation period, whichever comes earlier.

What’s included in the kitten price?

  • Vaccinations: The first two core vaccinations at 8 and 12 weeks old are provided by the breeder, as required before importing the kitten into Singapore. The third vaccination, administered when the kitten is at least 16 weeks old, is covered by us. This timing follows the principle of Maternally Derived Antibodies (MDA) to ensure effective immunity development.

  • Deworming: The kitten will be dewormed internally and externally before flying to Singapore. We will maintain the deworming schedule for the duration of the kitten's stay at our cattery, ensuring their continued health.

  • Microchip: A microchip will be implanted for identification and registration.

  • Pre-Collection Grooming: Comprehensive grooming will be done before you collect your kitten.

  • Sterilisation: While some kittens may already be sterilised, it is common for your kitten to arrive intact, in line with the latest European veterinary recommendations. We support delayed spay/neuter surgeries for the kittens' health. We cover the cost of the sterilisation surgery at our partnered vet clinic. You can choose to have the surgery done at any time, but we extend free coverage of the surgical fees until the kitten is 7 months old. Beyond 7 months, the surgical fees will no longer be covered by us.

  • Diet Adaptation: While we provide a 7-day supply of our BARF (Biologically Appropriate Raw Food) PMR (Prey Model Raw) diet, we understand some kittens may not be fully switched to this diet, or you might prefer a different feeding plan. Just let us know, and we can adapt to either continue with raw food or switch to kibble/canned food as per your preference.

  • Kitten Care Kit: Includes basic kitten accessories such as a brush, nail cutter, toys, and ear cleaner, as well as pet eye wipes, pet wet tissue, lysine gel supplement, 1 dose of internal and external deworming medication, and two packets of our in-house brand Premium Tofu cat litter to help you get started with your new companion.

  • Special Offer: Enjoy a 10% lifetime discount on vet bills from our partnered vet clinic.
